Job summary

JT AI Labs, the AI venture of JobTeaser, seeks a senior engineer to own jtlabs.ai: end-to-end ownership from application and review to onboarding and paid audio hours.

You will build the data collection platform, embed consent and traceability, and collaborate with the Head of AI and cross-functional teams to ship impactful features in a startup setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building and running production web apps end-to-end.
• Proficient in TypeScript with React and Next.js on frontend and backend.
• Experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Strong observability: logs, traces, metrics, alerts.
• Product-minded with fast iterations and impact measurement.
• Thrives in a startup setting and takes ownership in ambiguity.
• Fluent in English; bilingual in French.

Job Description

As one of the first engineers of JT AI Labs, you will take ownership of jtlabs.ai, the platform where experts complete their whole journey: application, review, onboarding, recording and paid audio hours:

• Take over and evolve the existing platform: application form, review console, speaker quota view, accepted job page and project onboarding. Keep it reliable while the team grows.
• Build the data collection platform from scratch which includes the whole process from session scheduling (slot creation, overbooking rules and automated reminders), to virtual recording room and audio upload.
• Embed consent and traceability in the product: integrate contract creation and signature, log every status change, link consent forms to the collected data.
• Contribute to the team's engineering practices: architecture decision records, runbooks, backward-compatible migrations, testing, CI/CD and observability.
• Under the supervision of the Head of AI, work closely with the data engineer, the delivery lead and operations to turn field feedback into product improvements.

Qualifications

• You hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience.
• You have 5+ years of experience building and running web applications in production, end to end.
• You are proficient in TypeScript and have solid experience with React and Next.js (or a similar framework) on both the front and back end.
• You have experience with AWS (S3, IAM, KMS), Docker and Kubernetes, and you are comfortable deploying and debugging your own code in production.
• You care about observability: logs, traces, metrics and alerting.
• You have a pragmatic, product-minded approach: you ship small, frequent increments and measure their impact.
• You thrive in a startup setting: you enjoy building from scratch, taking ownership, and navigating ambiguity.
• You enjoy working in cross-functional teams (Operations, Data, Product) and can turn operational pain points into concrete features.
• You are autonomous, curious, and comfortable in a fast-evolving ecosystem.
• Professional proficiency in English, bilingual in French.

Nice to have

• Experience with LiveKit, mediasoup, Daily or another WebRTC stack, including self-hosting.
• Experience with AudioWorklet, IndexedDB, offline-first patterns or Uppy.
• Experience with Supabase, background job queues (Graphile Worker, BullMQ) or Helm.
• Experience building marketplace or gig-work platforms: onboarding, scheduling, payments (Deel or similar).
