This position drives Schneider Electric's export control program and compliance through frequent training, stakeholder engagement, and communication of regulatory changes. The role reports to the EMEA Director Export Control & International Sanctions within the Global Export Control Center of Excellence (CoE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance the company's global export control program as a member of the Global Export Control CoE.
- Lead or support export control classification projects and activities for EMEA.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on EMA export control and sanctions regulations related to jurisdiction, classification, and licensing.
- Act as the point of contact for export control government agencies and authorities.
- Conduct reviews and audits at Schneider Electric sites, generate reports, and lead improvement activities related to classification and licensing.
- Provide training to personnel at all levels and advise on new regulations affecting business processes.
- Develop procedures ensuring compliance with export control and sanctions regulations.
- Collaborate with site management and export control SPOCs for continuous improvement of export control systems, policies, and procedures.
- Support internal investigations and report findings to management.
- Advise management on export control and sanctions compliance, including licensing and work instructions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to export control and sanctions.
- Identify and report potential violations or weaknesses in processes.
- Maintain and implement export control policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide advice on licenses, agreements, shipping documents, and compliance documentation.
- Attend seminars and conferences to stay updated on regulatory changes.
- Support ad-hoc export control projects related to mergers, acquisitions, and other activities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- Significant export control experience, preferably in a multinational company.
- 10-15 years of extensive knowledge of EU and international export control and sanctions regulations.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
- Leadership ability and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
