Job summary

Harmattan AI, a defense-technology innovator, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to own the Linux-based compute module software stack. You will manage BSPs, boot chain, kernel drivers, and device trees, taking boards from power-on to flight-ready platforms.

Responsibilities include creating reference images, performing secure boot and updates, and validating hardware with cross-functional teams. Strong C/C++, Python, and ARM kernel experience are essential.

Qualifications

• MSc in engineering (electrical, computer, or related field). PhD a plus; hands-on bring-up matters more than degree.
• 5+ years in embedded software with BSP ownership through hardware evolution.
• Strong command of embedded Linux build systems (Yocto/OpenEmbedded) and image/SDK generation.
• Kernel space driver development for ARM with I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, MIPI.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain BSP, device trees, reference images and SDK across boards and silicon revisions.
• Own boot chain, signed boot, verified rootfs, and A/B update workflows.
• Develop and validate drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, MIPI, including cameras and sensors.
• Provide startup and peripheral support on MCU targets used by the team.
• Lead software bring-up on new hardware and participate in design reviews.
• Define verification plans, automate boot/peripheral tests, and document milestones.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and embedded software platforms for integration.
