Harmattan AI in Paris is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to own firmware architecture for our rugged hardware products. You will work with hardware and mechanical engineers to bring boards from initial bring-up to production-ready deployment in demanding environments.

You will design real-time firmware, develop low-level drivers for SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN and RF links, and implement secure bootloaders and OTA updates.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2–10+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proven track record taking embedded products from prototype to mass production.
• Proficient in Embedded C/C++ on ARM Cortex‑M with bare‑metal and RTOS.
• Hands‑on hardware debugging with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN and RF links.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated firmware testing.

Responsabilités

• Design robust firmware architecture for real‑time MCUs and mixed workloads.
• Develop low‑level drivers for peripherals, RF modules and PMICs; implement communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN).
• Implement deterministic real‑time control, manage interrupts and scheduling.
• Collaborate with hardware/mechanical engineers on bring‑up, thermals and shielding.
• Own prototype‑to‑production firmware maturity with HITL testing and automated benches.
• Develop secure bootloaders and OTA firmware update mechanisms for harsh environments.
• Coordinate with Mission Application Developers on telemetry and control interfaces.
