Job summary

Harmattan AI is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to own the embedded software stack on compute modules, bringing a new board from power-on to flight-ready Linux. The role blends deep Linux/kernel work with hands-on hardware bring-up across multiple platforms.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++, Python, and Yocto/OpenEmbedded experience, plus a track record with boot, drivers, and verification across complex hardware.

Qualifications

• MSc in engineering or related field required; PhD a plus.
• 5+ years embedded software experience across BSP lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain BSP, device trees, and reference images across boards.
• Own boot chain including bootloader porting, signed boot, verified rootfs, and A/B updates.
• Develop Linux drivers across I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, MIPI, including camera/sensor interfaces.
• Provide startup, clock, and peripheral support on MCU targets.
• Lead software bring up on new hardware and assist in design reviews.
• Define verification test plans, automate boot tests on real targets, document milestones.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software platform teams on interfaces.
• Mentor junior embedded engineers when appropriate.
