Job summary

Dematic is seeking a senior Controls Lead Engineer to own the Controls Engineering scope across complex customer projects in EMEA. You will lead technical execution, coordinate engineering resources, manage risks, and act as a key technical authority throughout the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Structures, Installation and Customer teams to ensure safe, quality‑driven delivery within cost and schedule.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation.
• Strong Controls Engineering expertise, with the ability to challenge designs and make sound technical decisions.
• Full working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Controls Engineering scope across complex customer projects, ensuring delivery against objectives, requirements, quality standards, budget and schedule.
• Define the Controls Engineering execution strategy, resource requirements, milestones and readiness activities.
• Support sales and project handover with technical input, estimation, scheduling and solution review.
• Develop and maintain detailed Controls engineering design and commissioning programmes aligned with other disciplines.
• Act as primary Controls Engineering point of contact for PM, site management, procurement, manufacturing and customers.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and manage risks and escalation.
• Own key deliverables such as FDS, DOO, BOMs, procurement plans, installation documentation and customer deliverables.
• Ensure safety, quality gates and site-readiness are completed at project stages.
• Ensure correct transfer of information to customers for installation and training.
• Maintain status reporting, resource plans, schedules and cost forecasts.
