Job summary

Verkor, a French industrial company, seeks a Coating Principal Engineer for its Dunkirk gigafactory. You will own electrode coating and drying processes, support ramp-up, and drive automation to cut costs while ensuring quality in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will work with sensors, advanced testing, and cross-functional teams to launch production and optimize the coating stage for competitive performance.

Qualifications

• MS in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with slot-die coating and drying processes.
• Expert knowledge of coating systems and fluid mechanics for high-width electrodes.
• Experience with sensors for roll-to-roll processes and quality inspection.

Responsibilities

• Support SOP and ramp-up activities.
• Collaborate with product engineering to optimize electrode coating.
• Improve coating through increased automation to reduce costs.
• Test and validate state-of-the-art coating technologies.
• Conduct root cause investigations into coating process defects during operation.
