Job summary

Verkor is seeking a Process Engineer in Bourbourg, Hauts-de-France, to support SOPs, ramp-up, and product coating optimization. You will work with the engineering team to improve coating performance for electrode design and automate processes to reduce costs.

The role requires 8+ years in slot-die coating, strong data analysis skills (Python/Matlab/Minitab), and battery manufacturing experience in a manufacturing setting. On-site position with strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• M.S. in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with slot die coating and drying processes.
• Expert knowledge of single & dual-slot die coating systems, fluid mechanics, piping design, and fluid measurement techniques.
• Experience with sensors for roll-to-roll web processes (beta-ray, x-ray, ultrasonic, laser, vision inspection).
• Experience in manufacturing environment, coating width up to 1400mm, battery manufacturing.
• Strong statistical and data analysis skills with Python, Matlab, and Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Support the teams during SOP and ramp-up activities.
• Collaborate with the product engineering team to optimize the coating process for the electrode design.
• Improve coating by increasing process automation to save capital and operating costs.
• Test and validate state-of-the-art technologies for use in the coating process.
• During operation, conduct root cause investigations into defects in the coating process.
