Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer based in France to lead development of high-performance components in a ROS2-based architecture. You will work on embedded vision, sensor fusion, and distributed systems, driving architectural decisions and mentoring junior engineers.

You will design, implement, test, and optimise software across Linux environments, containerised with Docker, and participate in code reviews with a team of experienced developers and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in C++17/20 with memory management, multithreading.
• Experience with ROS2 robotics and distributed systems.
• Sensor integration and embedded vision or sensor-fusion experience.
• Linux debugging, profiling and performance analysis.
• Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Containerisation using Docker; build environments.
• English communication and ownership.
• Nice to have ROS2 Python tooling.
• Knowledge of Yocto / Embedded Linux / CI/CD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core application components using Modern C++ within a ROS2-based architecture.
• Integrate multiple sensors and third-party components into embedded vision and sensor-fusion platform.
• Build component-based applications using pub/sub patterns for distributed systems.
• Contribute to software architecture and design decisions, assess alternatives.
• Develop unit and integration tests to validate functionality and ensure stability.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimise runtime performance and memory usage.
• Debug and troubleshoot Linux-based systems using profiling tools.
• Maintain Docker configurations and build environments for development and targets.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and software quality.
