Doctolib is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join the Patient team in Paris. You will design and implement production-grade search and recommendation architectures to help hundreds of millions of users navigate to care efficiently.

You will own the retrieval and ranking pipelines, establish strong baselines, and ensure observability and low-latency operation while collaborating with ML Engineers, PMs, and SWEs to ship AI-powered features with measurable value.

Qualifications

• Production deployment of algorithms to production (ECS-based service on AWS).
• Strong analytical mindset with result-oriented, patient-first approach.
• Significant experience as a Software or AI engineer shipping search or recommendation systems to production.
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end retrieval: ranking, reranking pipelines and familiarity with nDCG, MAP, Recall@k, MRR.
• AI-engineering proficiency: embeddings & vector search, semantic retrieval, RAG, LLM-based or managed rerankers.
• Architecture-first approach: build system with baselines and evals before custom ML, partner with ML Engineers when needed.
• Evaluation & observability built into every stage (offline/online eval, A/B, monitoring).
• Production deployment: ship reliable, low-latency services with data quality and maintainability.

Responsabilités

• Design and build the production search & recommendation architecture with vector search and LLM components.
• Establish baselines and prompts, explore RAG and model selection.
• Implement evaluation and observability for offline and online evaluation.
• Set up data/event feedback loops to drive iteration and deeper ML later.
• Improve search relevance and ranking for patient-facing products.
• Own production quality, latency, reliability, monitoring.
