Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a technically minded Technical Writer based in France to create and maintain clear documentation for user interfaces, SDKs, and REST APIs. You will work in a docs-as-code environment, collaborating with engineers and product teams to ensure accuracy and usefulness.

You will own substantial portions of the documentation portfolio, test instructions by running products and integrating SDK code, and contribute to CI operations while leveraging AI tools to improve content

Qualifications

• Professional experience in technical writing or related roles involving clear technical documentation.
• Strong writing and editing skills with emphasis on accuracy and readability.
• Basic programming ability and ability to read code; familiarity with TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, .NET, or C++ is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub-based collaboration workflows, including pull requests.
• Basic Linux/Unix command-line proficiency.
• Ability to investigate technical issues, trace changes across branches or repositories, and locate information.
• Strong initiative and sound judgment; ownership without detailed instructions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills interviewing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to use AI tools for research and prototyping while maintaining editorial judgment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills for multiple projects in asynchronous environment.
• Genuine interest in making technical information accessible and improving developer experience.
• Blogging or long-form writing experience is an advantage.
• Available for full-time remote work and eligible to work from Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation across software products, including end-user guides, SDK integration instructions, REST API references, and other developer resources.
• Write and manage documentation using Markdown or MDX within a Git-based repository and publish content through a Docusaurus documentation website.
• Take ownership of a significant portion of the documentation portfolio and shape the documentation roadmap.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, support engineers, and solutions engineers to gather information and ensure documentation reflects product behavior.
• Test documentation by running products, following user workflows, and integrating SDK code into sample applications.
• Read and investigate code across languages to understand product functionality and produce accurate explanations.
• Contribute to CI operations and internal documentation; develop lightweight tools or workflows to improve quality.
• Participate in product development discussions and advocate for user needs.
• Manage documentation projects independently with deadlines and high accuracy.
• Use AI tools for research and prototyping while maintaining quality.
• Work primarily asynchronously with occasional meetings to move projects forward.
