Mercor is seeking a Bioinformatics & Computational Single-Cell Genomics Expert to design graduate-level problems and workflows. You will craft tasks that require real scientific software, run simulations, and interpret results.

Ideal candidates have MS/PhD-level biology or bioinformatics, strong Python, and hands-on experience with scanpy, scvelo, squidpy, gudhi, plus Linux environments and remote compute sandboxes.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level training in a relevant STEM field (MS/PhD preferred).
• Proven proficiency with at least one of the listed scientific software libraries (e.g., scanpy, scvelo, squidpy, gudhi).
• Strong Python skills — you’ll write problem setups, oracle functions, and validators.
• Ability to work independently and refine problem designs based on feedback.
• Comfortable working in a Linux/terminal environment with remote compute sandboxes.
• Available for at least 15–20 hours per week.

Responsabilités

• Design problems requiring skilled use of scientific software and multi-step workflows.
• Run simulations, interpret results, and design experiments to reveal hidden information in data.
• Refine problems through testing with state-of-the-art AI models and adjust difficulty accordingly.
