SFBI in the Strasbourg region is seeking a bioinformatics engineer to analyze high-throughput sequencing data, including short- and long-read datasets, as part of the Schacherer lab at IGBMC. The role focuses on developing, optimizing, and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines and integrating diverse data across projects.
The position requires strong programming skills (Python, R, Bash), effective communication in English, and the ability to work both independently and in an interdisciplinary,
high-throughput sequencing data pipeline development and optimization multi-omic
We are seeking a bioinformatics engineer motivated to join our research group (Schacherer lab, https://www.haploteam.org/ ). We investigate the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying phenotypic diversity at a population-scale through the integration of population genomics, quantitative genetics, functional genomics, and systems biology approaches.
By combining large-scale genomic datasets with multi-omics technologies, we aim to identify the genetic determinants of complex traits and to understand how genomic variation influences molecular traits and organismal phenotypes.
The primary responsibility of the recruited bioinformatics engineer will be to conduct analyses of high-throughput sequencing data, including both short- and long-read sequencing data, generated as part of the team’s various projects. The position will also involve the development, optimization, and maintenance of bioinformatics pipelines, as well as the integration and the analyses of different types of sequencing and genomic data.
The position will be based at the IGBMC, University of Strasbourg, France, within a dynamic and international research environment. The institute offers strong expertise in functional genomics, yeast genetics, and bioinformatics, with access to high-performance computing resources.
