Mercor is seeking a Bioinformatics & Computational Single-Cell Genomics Expert to help design graduate-level problems that test AI systems using real scientific software and workflows.

You will craft challenging tasks that cover scRNA-seq analysis, trajectory inference, and spatial transcriptomics, leveraging scanpy, scvelo, squidpy, and gudhi while refining difficulty through iterative testing against AI models.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level training in a relevant STEM field (MS or PhD)
• Proven proficiency with at least one listed scientific software libraries via research publications or open-source contributions
• Strong Python skills for problem setups, oracle functions, and validators
• Experience writing code to solve actual research problems with these libraries
• Ability to design challenging problems with puzzle-like evaluation

Responsabilités

• Create graduate-level computational problems using real scientific workflows
• Test problems against state-of-the-art AI models and refine difficulty
• Design problems around cell-type annotation, pseudotime ordering, multi-omic integration, and spatial analyses
• Iterate problem setups and validators based on feedback
