Alignerr is seeking a Ruby Software Engineer to help design, evaluate and improve AI training scenarios for production-grade backend software.

You will review code, reason about system design, and collaborate asynchronously with researchers and engineers on a fully remote, hourly-contract basis, committing 10–40 hours per week. This role offers freelance autonomy with meaningful technical impact.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and backend development.
• Familiar with APIs and data-driven systems.

Responsabilités

• Develop, review, and evaluate backend services and APIs written in Ruby and Ruby-based frameworks.
• Analyze existing codebases for correctness, performance, and maintainability; explain reasoning.
• Help create and validate realistic software engineering scenarios used in AI training and evaluation datasets.
• Assess AI-generated Ruby code for quality, accuracy, and production-readiness.
• Collaborate asynchronously with researchers and engineers supporting cutting-edge AI development.
• Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule.
