Job summary

Jobgether, in partnership with a travel technology business, seeks an experienced Technical Lead (Ruby on Rails, AI-native) based in France. This remote, part-time leadership role emphasizes engineering culture, standards, and developer mentorship over pure coding volume.

You will guide architecture, promote best practices, and mentor a small distributed team across countries, while focusing on sustainable engineering and productive collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software experience.
• 6+ years of production Ruby on Rails experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team.
• Excellent technical judgment and code-review skills.
• Daily hands-on use of AI-native development tools (Cursor, Claude Code).
• Experience integrating AI-powered tools into software development while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Define and nurture a strong engineering culture and collaboration standards.
• Set and uphold high standards for code quality, maintainability, and reliability.
• Champion AI-native development practices across the team.
• Mentor a four-person engineering group and support career growth.
• Guide architectural and technical decisions for scalable solutions.
• Review AI-assisted workflows to ensure production readiness and security.
• Establish development processes, conventions, and cross-border collaboration standards.
• Foster knowledge sharing across countries and time zones.
• Collaborate with leadership to align engineering culture with business priorities.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows and AI adoption.
