Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails, APIs) based in France to join a fully remote, globally distributed engineering team. You will develop and maintain Ruby on Rails APIs, collaborating with stakeholders to automate and improve workflows, and own projects from design through release.

You will practice secure coding, participate in code reviews, and contribute to domain modeling and technical design within an asynchronous, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience, focused on Ruby.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications.
• Strong Git skills and familiarity with established workflows.
• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technical tasks.
• Emphasis on secure coding, testing, CI, and code reviews.
• Ability to collaborate in an agile, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Build practical API solutions to improve internal workflows.
• Design, develop, test, review, and release production Ruby on Rails APIs.
• Identify dependencies and communicate risks early.
• Apply secure engineering practices for authentication and data handling.
• Investigate defects, implement fixes, and add regression tests.
• Improve system reliability and maintainability through code quality work.
• Collaborate with Product and senior engineers on design discussions.
• Contribute to documentation and support less-experienced teammates.
