PLACE Network in Paris is seeking a Programme & Events Intern to support two international programs in the Arts, Culture & Society Hub. You will assist with coordination, participant engagement, and event planning across Europe and Africa, gaining hands-on program management experience.

The role requires enrollment in higher education with a valid Convention de Stage, and fluency in French and English. It offers exposure to cross-border collaborations and a hands-on, small international team

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a higher education institution with a valid Convention de Stage.
  • Background in arts management, cultural management, project management, communications, social sciences, international development, or a related field.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across different projects.
  • Strong interest in arts, culture, migration, and social impact.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a small international team.

Responsabilités

  • Support the coordination and follow-up of program activities across ongoing international projects.
  • Support participant and community communication and follow-up.
  • Maintain project documentation, timelines and tracking tools.
  • Support the organisation of online workshops, meetings, and in-person sessions.
  • Assist with outreach to cultural institutions, civil society organisations, artistic networks and community partners.
  • Support the planning and coordination of program and public engagement events.
  • Assist with event logistics, timelines, budgets, activities and registrations.
  • Liaise with artists, speakers, cultural organisations and service providers.
  • Prepare agendas, event flows, invitations and event materials.
  • Support event implementation and delivery (production and event setup).
  • Collect participant feedback and contribute to evaluation summaries.
  • Assist with documentation and reporting for the programs.

We're Hiring! Program & Events Intern (Stage) - Arts, Culture and Society Hub at PLACE Network

Interested in arts, culture, social impact, and international collaboration? Join the PLACE Network and gain hands-on experience supporting international arts and culture programs that connect Europe and Africa.

We are looking for a Programme & Events Intern to join our Arts, Culture & Society Hub in Paris. The intern will support the coordination and delivery of international programs, cultural activities, events, and community engagement initiatives, while gaining practical experience in program management, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination.

Through international learning programs, cultural exchanges, residencies, and collaborative initiatives, the Hub connects artists and organisations across Europe and Africa to promote cross-border creative collaboration, creative leadership, and social impact.

Role Overview

As a Programme & Events Intern , you will support the implementation of two international programs:

  • Artivism Alliance: In Motion , supporting cross-border artistic collaborations through mentoring, micro-grants, and a residency.
  • Artivism Without Borders , a France-Uganda initiative connecting young refugee and migrant-background artivists through participatory arts and peer learning.

Working closely with the Head of Programs & Hub Lead , you will contribute to program coordination, participant and community engagement, event planning, partner outreach, and reporting.

This is a Hands-on role offering the opportunity to progressively take ownership of defined components of dissemination and public engagement events , from planning and coordination through to implementation and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination and follow-up of program activities across ongoing international projects
  • Support participant and community communication and follow-up

Profile & Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a higher education institution and able to provide a valid Convention de Stage
  • Background in arts management, cultural management, project management, communications, social sciences, international development, or a related field
  • Fluency in French and English , both written and spoken
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across different projects
  • Strong interest in arts, culture, migration, and social impact
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously while collaborating within a small international team

Preferred:

  • Previous internship, volunteering, or professional experience in event coordination, community initiatives, arts, culture, or cultural projects
  • Familiarity with Paris' arts and cultural sector , including cultural institutions, creative organisations, artist collectives, or community initiatives
  • Experience working with nonprofit or community-based organisations
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva, and ClickUp
