Octopus Energy is expanding a new business line focused on low-cost, reliable energy for datacenters and large industrials. You will own project models, design pricing strategies, and participate in final investment decisions.

The role demands strong quantitative skills, experience in energy markets, and the ability to communicate complex analyses to stakeholders. We seek a candidate with 2–5 years in a numerate commercial role, deep Excel and Python skills, and a quantitative degree.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a numerate commercial role in infrastructure, renewables, or energy trading.
• Strong financial modelling from first principles (DCF, IRR, scenarios).
• Advanced knowledge of GB/European power markets and network costs.
• Excellent Excel and Python skills.

Responsabilités

• Own the project model for generation, BESS, flexible load, and network costs.
• Price offers including tariff, PPA, tolling, and availability-based structures.
• Model storage and flexible load across wholesale markets and regulatory charges.
• Develop the business case and supporting presentations for investment decisions.
• Track portfolio performance and monitor regulatory changes and market shifts.
