I2BC, on the Gif-sur-Yvette campus, seeks a postdoctoral researcher to predict biomolecular interactions of phage proteins. You will benchmark deep-learning structure tools and combine evolutionary information with structural data to advance functional annotation of phage genomes.

The project includes multi-scale modeling, ML feature extraction, and developing tools for genome-wide predictions, with collaboration across French and German teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, microbiology/viral ecology, or related field.
• Experience in data analysis and methods development.
• Fluent scientific English; knowledge of French not required.

Responsabilités

• Data collection and curation for phage protein projects.
• Benchmarking of 3D structure prediction tools and language models.
• Multi-scale structural modeling and analysis of predicted models.
• Statistical modeling to extract features and develop predictors.
• Analysis of interaction networks and data integration tasks.
• Development of scripts and software; use of compute clusters.
• Prepare data for VirJenDB integration; contribute to project dissemination.
