CNRS’s Laboratory for Biometry and Evolutionary Biology (LBBE) in Lyon, France, invites applications for a PhD student position funded under the ANR EXONHANCER program.

The project focuses on evolutionary origins of exonic enhancers, integrating genome annotations and comparative genomics, with strong emphasis on Python/R workflows and statistical analysis.

Supervised by Anamaria Necsulea and Benoît Ballester, the PhD will develop reproducible analyses and communicate results in English.

Qualifications

• Masters in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or related field.
• Experience with genomic data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; communicate in English.
• Background in statistics.

Responsabilités

• Develop reproducible bioinformatics workflows.
• Analyze exonic enhancers and comparative genomics data.
• Visualize and interpret large genomic datasets.
• Collaborate with supervisors and attend conferences when needed.
