IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate manufacturing-ready FreeCAD data with clear geometry and design intent. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work will involve creating or editing FreeCAD models, drawings and assemblies, checking dimensional meaning, GD&T, manufacturability, and consistency between model and documentation.

• Experience applying GD&T and ensuring manufacturability.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate manufacturing-ready FreeCAD data with clear geometry and design intent. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Create or edit FreeCAD models, drawings and assemblies according to the assigned task and experience track.
• Check dimensional meaning, GD&T, manufacturability and the consistency between model and documentation.
• Validate the output, correct defects and explain important design choices; apply the separate criteria for routine editing and complex original model creation.

Preferred background

• Parametric-CAD transfer route: at least four years for model editing, or ten years for complex assembly creation, using Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or FreeCAD.
• Apply ASME Y14.5 or equivalent GD&T and DFM across at least two to three manufacturing methods, such as machining, casting, molding or sheet metal; demonstrate assembly-level rather than only single-part work.
• FreeCAD/manufacturing route: at least two years in relevant mechanical, product or industrial design, advanced parametric models and drawings, tolerance analysis and manufacturing QA.
• Scan/point-cloud reconstruction is valuable. Automation in Python, iLogic, NX Open or VBA is a plus, rather than a general programming prerequisite.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.

Pay and working terms

$45 $105/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
