IXO is seeking specialists to evaluate mechanical and CAD designs that are understandable, verifiable and manufacturable. You will create, inspect, and iterate part and assembly models, review stress and manufacturability, and document decisions with supporting evidence.

Remote assignments are possible with flexible scheduling; typical engagement involves 10–20 hours per week, with 2–3 week indicative lengths. Public material only; no confidential data.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate mechanical and CAD designs that can be understood, checked and manufactured. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Create, inspect or iterate part and assembly models together with the drawings and documentation that define them.
• Review stress, tolerance, geometry and manufacturability assumptions, using appropriate analysis or simulation where relevant.
• Document design decisions, BOMs and verification findings, and assess readiness across concept, prototype and production stages.

Required background and routes

• CAD route: demonstrated professional drafting/design work and strong use of at least one major CAD platform, with clean models and professional drawings.
• Mechanical-product route: a bachelor's or higher in mechanical/product engineering or a related subject and two to four years of relevant professional experience; create detailed designs and independently solve technical problems.

Preferred background

• Senior mechanical review favors at least five years of design/FEA work and strong SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo or NX skills, preferably across platforms.
• ANSYS/Abaqus or comparable simulation; CNC, molding, sheet-metal or additive manufacturing; hardware development, systems integration or mechatronics. A degree is preferred, rather than universal, for the CAD-only route.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 10-20, 10–20 hours per week depending on the track. Indicative assignment lengths include 2–3 weeks. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.

Pay and working terms

$80 • $105/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
