Job summary

Timmins and District Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide outpatient psychiatric nursing services, including intake assessments, individual therapy, and group interventions. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, risk assessment, and trauma-informed care within Ontario standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or BScN with a current CNO RN Certificate of Competence, experience in mental health nursing, and knowledge of CBT.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Diploma or BScN and current CNO RN certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years of current mental health nursing experience.
• Knowledge of CBT and trauma-informed care.
• Bilingual French/English is an asset.
• Experience with data entry and Meditech.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective and therapeutic psychiatric nursing services to patients in outpatient settings.
• Perform intake assessments and triage priority with team input.
• Provide individual therapy and group interventions and manage group dynamics.
• Collaborate with the health care team to reach client outcomes.
• Assess psychosocial and mental status with attention to suicide/homicide risk.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality per hospital policy.
• Respond to safety risks and Code White situations.
