Job summary

Timmins and District Hospital in Timmins, ON, is seeking a licensed nurse to join the Withdrawal Management Unit. You will provide care, administer withdrawal medications, and manage infections with a trauma-informed, recovery-focused approach within a multidisciplinary team.

You must hold a diploma in nursing with CNON competence and be eligible for CNON membership in good standing. Strong English and French communication is valued; twelve-hour shifts, nights, and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a diploma nursing program with CNON competence.
• Current or eligible for CNON membership in good standing.
• Competent in CPR, IV therapy and Medication Administration.
• Experience with addictions care and data entry via Windows/Meditech.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients in Withdrawal Management Unit per nursing standards.
• Administer medications to aid withdrawal and manage infections/ADRs.
• Build rapport and provide client-centered coaching and support.
• Apply harm-reduction approach in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver care with recovery, compassion and trauma-informed principles.
• Communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality per hospital policy.
• Work twelve-hour shifts, nights and weekends as required.
