Overstory is seeking an ML Engineering Manager to lead multiple cross-functional teams of machine learning engineers and data scientists. You will guide technical direction, drive ambitious goals, and support teams through coaching and strategic decision-making.

You’ll work across product, design and engineering to evolve ML practices, manage talent growth, and help build a safer, more resilient grid through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing ML or data teams.
• Strong interest in climate action and technology’s role.
• Experience in high-growth startups or scale-ups.
• Product-minded with demonstrable business impact.
• Technical depth in ML or data systems to guide teams.

• Enable ML and data teams to operate as highly productive cross-functional units.
• Support teams working with satellite imagery and geospatial data.
• Grow teams by attracting and hiring top Data/ML talent.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive culture where people thrive.
• Provide 1:1 coaching and feedback to help others grow.
• Partner with Product Managers to balance short- and long-term goals.
• Ensure technical approaches meet future product and modelling needs.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering leaders on strategy.
• Evolve Data and ML practices to improve collaboration and delivery.
