Job summary

Harmattan AI in France is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of Ground Control Systems hardware from concept to mass production. You will design drone controllers, antenna enclosures, and launcher boxes, integrating with electronics and RF teams for rugged, field-ready products.

You will apply GD&T, DFM/DFA, and advanced SolidWorks modelling, drive prototypes, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure documentation and test results support scalable manufacturing in defense

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and at least one full product development cycle.
• Manufacturing expertise in plastic injection molding with DFM and QC.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and large-scale thermoforming is desirable.
• Advanced SolidWorks proficiency with GD&T and complex surface modelling.
• Hands-on prototyping and integration of embedded electronics into enclosures.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End design of drone controllers, antenna systems and launcher enclosures.
• Own product development cycles from concept to mass production.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings with GD&T to meet assembly requirements.
• Apply DFM/DFA to minimise cost and improve scale-up; coordinate with suppliers.
• Run FEA/CFD simulations to validate design choices early.
• Conduct mechanical testing and validation for field readiness.
• Collaborate with Electronics and RF teams on PCB integration and routing.
• Partner with Supply Chain on supplier qualification and cost targets.
• Document designs, test results, and production workflows.
