Harmattan AI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead airframe design for autonomous UAV platforms. You will own concepts through production, balancing durability, efficiency and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, perform structural/thermal analyses, manage manufacturing aspects, and document designs and test results to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience designing and prototyping mechanical systems, ideally UAVs/defence.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks); experience with structural and thermal analysis (FEA) is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including high-precision machining and plastic injection moulding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to document complex concepts clearly.
• Commitment to Harmattan AI’s mission and operational excellence.

Responsabilités

• Design and prototype UAV platforms and complex subsystems from scratch.
• Own system-level constraints: thermal, mass budget, cost, and IP sealing.
• Collaborate with R&D (Electrical, Software, Industrialisation) for mechanical integration.
• Conduct testing and risk analysis; develop tools to validate designs for harsh environments.
• Deliver packages and specs on time, meeting tight deadlines.
• Oversee manufacturing with suppliers for plastics and precision machining; ensure quality and schedules.
