Qualifications

• Bring native Malay and strong Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia knowledge.
• Experience in translation, localization, writing, editing or linguistic analysis.
• Deep understanding of grammar and cultural conventions to distinguish defensible choices from errors.

Your background

Bring native Malay and strong Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia knowledge, together with professional experience in translation, localization, writing, editing or linguistic analysis. You should understand the language’s grammar and cultural conventions deeply enough to distinguish a defensible regional or stylistic choice from an actual error. Clear explanations, careful reading and independent work are essential.

Malay-studies, linguistics or communication training is advantageous. NLP tools such as Prodigy or Labelbox are useful.

Deliverables and engagement

Typical deliverables are corrected passages, labeled examples, scored comparisons and concise rationales tied to the relevant words or structures. IXO will define the language variety, subject matter and annotation conventions for each assignment. Work is remote within the listed eligible locations; workload and schedule are agreed before work begins.

Pay is $45 • $130/hr in USD.
