Marktlink is launching its France office in Lyon, seeking an M&A Analyst to join the deal team. You'll work on live deals, perform financial modelling, and engage with clients from day one in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

You will be financially and analytically strong, commercially minded, fluent in French and proficient in English, and prepared to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and cross-border projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a top business or engineering school; no prior professional experience required, internship in M&A/Transaction Services/audit/investment banking is a strong plus.
• Fluent in French and professional working proficiency in English.
• Social and entrepreneurial mindset with practical, strategic, tactical and commercial insight.
• Strong modelling and valuation skills, with rigor and a goal-oriented approach.
• Affinity with the SME sector and strong communication skills are essential.

Your goal

Being an M&A Analyst is the first career step to becoming a dealmaker. You will work for the Lyon deal team that guides entrepreneurs in buying or selling a company, as part of the launch of Marktlink's new France office. You are financially and analytically strong, but above all commercially and socially skilled. You will not merely be working on spreadsheets — you will be involved in the entire process and meet clients from day one. At Marktlink, we invest in talent and reinforce each other's strengths. In addition, learning on the job is essential in M&A, and we organise regular sessions to share knowledge across our European offices.

Your responsibilities

As an M&A Analyst at Marktlink, you can roughly expect the following tasks:

• Company and market research to support live deals;
• Financial modelling, preparation of valuations and bid books;
• Buyer and seller research and initial screening;
• Supporting the drafting of financing applications;
• Broad, hands‑on support to the deal team (Senior Associate and Manager) throughout the transaction process.

Your profile

• Graduate of a top business or engineering school; no prior professional experience required, though an internship in M&A, Transaction Services, audit, or investment banking is a strong plus;
• Fluent in French and professional working proficiency in English;
• You are a social and entrepreneurial person with practical, strategic, tactical and commercial insight;
• Strong modelling and valuation skills, combined with rigor and a goal-oriented mindset;
• Demonstrable affinity with the SME sector;
• An eye for personal relationships and excellent communication skills are essential.
