Bank of China Paris Branch is seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer (Projects & Governance) to lead governance projects, manage budgets, vendor selection, procurement coordination and timely payments.

You will coordinate cross-functional efforts with Legal & Compliance teams and business units, acting as project manager to consolidate responses and ensure delivery of governance initiatives including IRA/RACA, training programs and periodic reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking/Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, or Project/Change Management is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in banking, finance, or consulting.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and either French or English; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage legal and compliance-related projects and subscriptions, including budget planning, vendor selection, procurement coordination, invoice verification, and payment processing.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Head Office requests and coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure timely delivery across Legal & Compliance teams and business units.
• Coordinate and oversee governance exercises including IRA/RACA/training programs and quarterly reviews; act as system administrator for legal/compliance platforms and oversee Business Continuity Plan.
• Contribute to LCD Department tasks as requested by management.

You are going to join the Governance team within the Legal & Compliance Department of BOC Paris Branch as a Legal & Compliance Officer (Projects & Governance).

Your main tasks will be:

• Lead and manage legal and compliance-related projects and subscriptions, including budget planning and initiation, vendor selection, procurement coordination, invoice verification, and payment processing.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Head Office requests, serving as a project manager to coordinate cross-functional efforts, allocate tasks, consolidate responses, and ensure timely delivery across Legal & Compliance teams and business units.
• Coordinate and oversee recurring legal and compliance governance exercises, including: Annual Institutional Risk Assessment (IRA)/Annual Risk and Control Assessment (RACA)/Semi-annual Legal & Compliance training programs/Quarterly affiliate transaction reviews/Quarterly resilience and cybersecurity compliance checks/Quarterly system user access reconciliation/Other Head Office-driven governance and reporting initiatives
• Serve as system administrator for legal and compliance platforms, ensuring proper maintenance, access control, and optimization of system usage.
• Act as the Business Continuity Plan (BCP/PUPA) coordinator for the department, ensuring timely execution, monitoring, and reporting of related activities.
• Contribution to all types of LCD Department tasks as requested by the management.

Your qualifications are :

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking/Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, or Project/Change Management. Relevant certifications (e.g., ACAMS, AMF, or Change Management) are a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience (excluding internship/apprenticeship) in a bank, financial institution, or consulting firm, with exposure to internal organization or change management.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and either French or English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong presentation and reporting skills, particularly using PowerPoint.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage and lead discussions with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
