The ESRF in Grenoble, France, invites a Beamline Scientist for the ID09 beamline to lead time-resolved X-ray studies using ultrafast lasers and diffraction/solution scattering.

You will drive operation and scientific exploitation, support visiting researchers, and advance instrument upgrades to keep ID09 at the forefront of time-resolved science. This five-year contract includes relocation support to Grenoble and opportunities for your own research program.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics, or related field.
  • Expertise in instrumentation and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with ultrafast lasers.
  • Hands-on experience with time-resolved X-ray diffraction or solution scattering.
  • Proven research record with high-impact publications.

Responsabilités

  • Oversee operation and development of the ID09 beamline.
  • Support international researchers and enable experiments.
  • Develop and implement instrument upgrades and strategy.
  • Contribute to X-ray diffraction and scattering group activities.
  • Publish and present high-impact research results.
