ESRF - The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble invites applications for a Beamline Operation Manager at the ID09 beamline. The role focuses on operation, maintenance, and development of ultrafast laser systems to enable time-resolved X-ray studies, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with international users.

You will work with diverse scientific teams, contribute to beamtime planning, and support ongoing instrument upgrades, while engaging in high-level, multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in ultrafast lasers.
• Hands-on experience in time-resolved X-ray diffraction and/or time-resolved X-ray solution scattering.
• Strong foundation in electronics and/or programming.
• Ability to interact with colleagues and users from diverse countries and backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment.
• Autonomy, initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to collaborate with researchers from diverse disciplines.

Responsabilités

• Lead operation and maintenance of the ID09 beamline.
• Develop and maintain ultrafast laser systems and laser delivery capabilities.
• Provide support to external users as local contact.
• Contribute to beamtime allocation and in-house experiments with the beamline team.
• Collaborate with researchers to advance ultrafast X-ray science.
