  • Working time: Full-time job
  • Publication start on Intranet: 26/08/2026

ID09 is a beamline dedicated to time-resolved X-ray studies in physics, chemistry and biology using state of the art instrumentation. Through the diffraction/scattering of short X-ray pulses we monitor the structural changes taking place at the atomic/molecular level in different kinds of systems (solid-state materials, transition metal complexes, biomolecules in solution, etc.) after laser photoexcitation.

As a beamline operation manager you will be strongly involved in the instrumental developments and maintenance of the ID09 beamline. This includes the different advanced ultrafast laser systems available at ID09 and the different kind of laser delivery and shaping capabilities, which requires continuous maintenance and developments to meet the demand of our international user community.

Besides contributing to the beamline operation and development, you will provide support to external users as local contact, which is a unique opportunity for getting involved in collaboration work with leading groups in the field of ultrafast X-ray science. As beamline operation manager you will participate and contribute to beamtime allocated for in-house research experiments in close collaboration with the rest of the beamline team.
