Description du poste

Overview

The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) is looking for a motivated postdoc to join ID01, a world leading beamline dedicated to micro-/nano-beam diffraction imaging experiments. The beamline team collaborates with the user community to develop new tools exploiting beam coherence and brilliance. For epitaxial systems, nanostructures and devices the team has carried out lighthouse experiments attracting collaborators worldwide. The successful applicant will support the user program and develop their own research in nanobeam diffraction imaging, potentially combined with reconstruction algorithms to improve performance. The beamline team is supported by visiting scientists and PhD students from collaborations across Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct cutting-edge research and exploit and drive ID01’s (operando) nano diffraction imaging program. Develop an in-house research project in consultation with your supervisor.
  • Drive technical developments, ensuring continuous upgrades and improvements of beamline instrumentation and algorithm base.
  • Collaborate with international experts, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Present and publish research findings in conferences, workshops, and peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications
  • PhD in a STEM field and several years of postdoctoral experience in physics, chemistry, or a closely related field.
