Job summary

Voodoo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Playable Ads team within the Central Growth Team in Paris. You will lead a small, autonomous group, while staying hands-on to craft innovative playable ad formats across multiple game franchises.

You will mentor peers, drive performance metrics, and collaborate with Growth and creative strategists to align on priorities in a fast-paced, global team environment. Fluency in English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in playable ads or game development.
• Hands-on production experience while coordinating teams.
• Proficient with Unity (Luna) or Cocos Creator and related tools.
• Knowledge of OOP and web game development.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and asset generation tools.
• Strong grasp of mobile marketing performance metrics and creative testing.
• Proven ability to mentor peers.
• Entrepreneurial mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Fluent English; French a plus.

Role

Voodoo is looking for a Lead Software Engineer for our Playable Ads team as part of our Central Growth Team. In this role, you'll lead key initiatives developed by our playable ads team, while staying hands-on with production and driving innovation in our playable ad formats across games.

Key tasks

• Lead and coach a small team of playable ads developers/strategists embedded within franchise-dedicated squads, ensuring high autonomy and strong performance

• Stay hands-on with playable ad production, contributing directly to the creation and iteration of high-quality playable creatives

• Oversee operational topics for the playable team, including workflows, tooling, and best practices

• Drive innovation in playable ad formats, constantly exploring new mechanics, interactions, and creative concepts to stay ahead of market trends

• Collaborate closely with the Growth Manager and creative strategists to align on priorities and franchise-level objectives

• Benchmark competitor playable ads and analyze performance data to improve production quality and effectiveness

• Act as a technical and/or strategic reference for the team, providing guidance on both development and marketing performance topics

• Support the rollout of playable ads across multiple game franchises, adapting formats to each title's creative strategy

• Contribute to defining and evolving the playable ads chapter's vision, standards, and processes

Profile

• 4+ years of experience in playable ad or game development

• Hands-on, maker mindset - you're comfortable getting into production yourself while also stepping back to coordinate

• Experience with relevant playable ads development tools or frameworks Unity (Luna), Cocos Creator or other relevant platforms

• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and web game development

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and asset generation (Scenario, Flux, ElevenLabs)

• Solid understanding of mobile marketing performance metrics and creative testing

• Proven ability to mentor and coach peers

• You have entrepreneurial mindset and can adapt to a high-paced environment

• You can demonstrate excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

• You are fluent in English (fluency in French is a plus)
