Job summary

Academic Key is seeking a Senior or Lead Security Engineer (Detection & Response) to build the next generation of detection systems across AWS, identity, endpoints, SaaS and data center infrastructure. You will own telemetry pipelines, lead investigations and drive improvements in detection coverage.

The role emphasizes proactive threat hunting, automation, and collaboration with IT and Engineering to design preventative controls and robust incident playbooks.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in detection engineering and incident response.
• Proven ability to lead investigations from detection to resolution.
• Strong scripting skills (Python) and automation mindset.
• Experience with cloud security monitoring in AWS and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own security monitoring and detection across AWS, identities, endpoints, SaaS and data centers.
• Build telemetry pipelines and continuously improve detection coverage.
• Lead investigations and incident response from detection through post-mortem.
• Develop playbooks and automate detection, investigation and response tasks.
