Farfetch in Porto is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the Integrations team. You will work at the heart of our business, delivering reliable experiences for customers and contributing to feature design that enhances checkout and payments.

You will learn and grow with an accomplished team, using modern tech like .NET, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra and Kafka, while embracing Agile practices and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM field.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming (C#) and OOP principles, design patterns, and data structures.
• Basics of REST APIs and unit testing frameworks.
• Experience with Git or TFS
• Awareness of CI/CD methodologies.
• Familiarity with non-relational databases or search engines.
• Knowledge of messaging queues (e.g., Kafka).
• Interest in Scrum or Kanban and modern software development practices.
• Strong communication in English.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with a team of developers to design and implement features that enhance checkout and payment experiences, with mentorship.
• Maintain and improve existing services to ensure clean, efficient, and scalable code as we grow.
• Stay up to date with backend and web technologies, architecture principles and design patterns.
• Learn about performance, resilience and security aspects of the platform.
• Understand the full development lifecycle with emphasis on software quality processes.
• Work in an Agile environment focusing on delivery and continuous improvement.
• Develop capabilities using the latest technologies including .NET, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra and Kafka.
