Description du poste

We are looking for a 6 months internship starting September 2026.

PRESENTATION OF THE PROGRAM CONTEXT / TEAM

The PRIME Program was set up in 2025 to unlock business value by modernizing the core insurance applications hosted on the IBM mainframe platform while ensuring a controlled ramp down of the technical platform. AXA's challenge is not Mainframe; it is to unlock business value with agentic AI. This requires transforming core legacy applications (claims, underwriting, policy management…) currently running on Mainframe due to functional and data limitations, technical complexity, and skills scarcity. The cloud (private or public) is the natural landing platform as it better supports AXA's business ambition. Competitors and new entrants increasingly choose cloud-based architectures. PRIME was positioned as an umbrella program with a central lean group cockpit and entities responsible for local delivery, business value, and funding. The central team also steered coherence in methodologies, experience curve, and reusability of some program investments. After delivering a full modernization plan and business case with the entities, the central team shifted focus to synergies enablement through the creation of an applications modernization Center of Excellence (CoE).

Job Purpose

Assist the applications modernization CoE lead and team to develop and steer a high-impact Group Centre of Excellence (CoE) to enable faster, de-risked, and cost-optimized core insurance applications modernization journeys across 14+ entities. The CoE acts as a synergies enablement hub by ensuring cross-entity collaboration, knowledge capitalization, sourcing optimization, and reusable asset development while respecting local ownership and context.

MISSIONS
Assist the CoE synergy teams to fully deliver the expected CoE benefits
  • Contribute to 4 main synergy areas: community & knowledge building, global procurement, technical platform optimization, and application modernisation.
  • Identify relevant AI tooling and services to analyze, understand, and modernise legacy applications (reverse engineering, code analysis, developer tooling, AI assistance, etc.).
  • Organise and facilitate synergy working groups and action plans.
  • Develop assets (methodology, position papers, lessons learned) in agreement with synergy leads and working group objectives and backlog.
  • Develop the community, communication, and knowledge base.
  • Develop reporting and analytical views to support steering of synergies and decision-making.
Ownership of specific projects
  • Take direct ownership of deliverables in the Center of Excellence, such as studies on potential new tools, large event organisation, and definition of a target operating model, to demonstrate end-to-end ownership as part of the internship.
What You Will Learn And/or Further Develop
  • Ability to work in a very multicultural and global environment.
  • 360° understanding of key streams of work required to run a very large transformation program.
  • The tools and frameworks to organise work efficiently when running a complex programme.
  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of some deliverables.
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders in the organisation.
Skills
  • English: Very advanced level (spoken and written).
  • Good general knowledge of the IT ecosystem overall.
  • Ability to digest complex information (sometimes technical) to present a clear summary for decision‑making and actions (PowerPoint, Excel, …).
  • Adapt quickly to changes, demonstrating speed in performing complex tasks efficiently in fast‑paced, moving or uncertain environments.
  • Rigorous; ensure discussions and decisions are recorded and followed up with particular care of details.
