Axens propose un stage Internship - Paramax Technologies Optimization au sein du POP Process Department, à Rueil-Malmaison, pour une durée de 5 à 6 mois. • Stage de 5 à 6 mois recherché, avec goût pour les défis techniques et l’apprentissage rapide.
• Bonnes compétences rédactionnelles et maîtrise des outils Word/Excel; connaissance de logiciels de simulation souhaitée.

Responsibilities

• Optimiser le balance de pression dans les colonnes de distillation et réduire l’OPEX.
• Concevoir et simuler des équipements à haute efficacité et créer une base de données associée.
• Analyser les conceptions de colonnes de xylènes et évaluer l’impact sur l’intégration thermique et les coûts.

Context

Axens Project Operations Business Division (POP) mission is to provide advanced technologies, basic engineering design, modular units design and technical services to its customers.We are looking for an intern for the POP Process Department in collaboration with the Technology and Technical Support Department POP Process Department is involved in basic engineering projects and Modular Units Projects development for our customers but also on new technologies development.The Technology and Technical Support Department develops technical proposals and provide technical support to our Licensees.Paraxylene is an essential chemical building block in the production of a diverse range of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and fiber consumer products. ParamaX® technology suite is a combination of top-of-the-line processes designed to produce high-purity paraxylene, but also other aromatic molecules such as metaxylene, orthoxylene, benzene and toluene.

Tasks and activities

In close contact with the process design team as well as the technology team, you will work on 3 topics related to ParamaX® technologies optimization:

• Optimization of Pressure Balance in Distillation Columns
  
  
  
  • Analyze operating data from running unit and challenge current design operating conditions and reduce utilities (OPEX)
  
  
  • Identify optimizations, implement them in simulation and assess the impact on utility consumption and Heat Integration
  
  
  • Update Design guidelines
  
  
  
  


• Creating a database for Specific High Efficiency Equipment
  
  
  
  • Take inventory of existing industrial equipment (Trays, Heat Echangers) & track the last design evolutions: analyze the results, identify trends based on the technologies concerned and operating data (feeds, products, unit capacities, etc.)
  
  
  • Create the corresponding database
  
  
  
  


• Optimization of Xylenes Column design and simulation
  
  
  
  • Analyze recent projects and proposals to identify potential optimization
  
  
  • Simulate the Fractionation section for bigger capacities
  
  
  • Evaluate the impacts on Heat Integration
  
  
  • Compare costs (CAPEX and OPEX) with existing schemes and designs
  
  
  
  

Furthermore, if the opportunity arises, you will be involved in Process Design Package activities (H&M B’s, equipment sizing …) or technical proposal elaboration (eqpt sizing, cost estimates …).

Profile

• Currently in your last year of engineering school specializing in Process/Chemical Engineering you are looking for a 5 to 6 months internship. You are looking for technical challenges, you are eager to learn, and you can understand quickly new concepts. You work autonomously, set your own targets and report on your progress and difficulties frequently.


• Advanced competences in Word, Excel as well as simulation software (Pro II ideally).


• Fluent in English, with good writing skills in English is strongly recommended.


• Good team spirit, organized, proactive.
