Job summary

SMBC Group EMEA is recruiting a Director-level Credit Analyst to assess and monitor credit exposure for transactions, lead credit reviews, and present risk-based recommendations to senior governance bodies. The role involves collaboration with Front Office and multiple departments to ensure compliance and robust credit risk management across European operations.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in credit analysis (5-10 years) in corporate banking and corporate banking products.
• Good knowledge of credit risk management requirements and regulations at European and German level (EBA, ECB, MaRisk KWG).
• Fluency in written English and German (if possible).

Responsibilities

• Critically and independently analyze credit applications submitted by Front Offices according to bank policies.
• Prepare concise summaries with reasoned recommendations for presentation to the Executive Board or delegated authority.
• Timely management of credit applications, policies, and reporting matters.
• Assist the Head of Credit in all duties and responsibilities
• Report material matters to governance structures (e.g., Special Credit Review, Credit and Prudential Risk Committees)
• Assist in preparation and review of internal policies and procedures related to credit matters
• Assist Front Office and other departments in ensuring compliance with procedures and systems of the Bank
