Job summary

SMBC Group in Paris is seeking a Front Office Credit Analyst Intern for a 6-month period starting January 2027. You will join the CBD2 Credit team, supporting day-to-day credit analysis and monitoring of corporate clients in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

You will work with a Senior Credit Analyst and collaborate with Paris and Brussels teams, gaining hands-on experience in financial analyses and facilities renewals in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Finance/Business/Engineering student
• Understanding of financial products and markets
• 1st internship experience in financing or accounting
• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in MS Office tools; familiarity with AI tools
• Analytical skills with concise communication
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Good knowledge of financial analysis
• Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
• Curious and self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Support the Paris Credit Team in day-to-day credit analysis tasks, including the annual review process and renewals of facilities
• Participate in the analysis of new transaction applications (onboarding of new corporate clients)
• Take responsibility for simple monitoring cases and straightforward requests (e.g., credit line extensions/waivers)
• Support the team on ad-hoc credit-related requests or projects at CBD2 Paris or EMEA level
