Job summary

SMBC Group’s Paris-based AVP – Corporate Solutions in the EMEA Risk Solutions Group leads hedging solutions for corporate clients, supporting origination, structuring, and execution of interest rate derivatives in an international banking environment.

You will work with senior professionals, gain exposure to financing and capital markets, and contribute to the FIG Solutions franchise across Europe, with a hybrid working model and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in corporate treasury or related area within a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of interest rate products and risk management concepts.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support origination and execution of interest rate derivative transactions.
  • Assist in identifying client hedging opportunities and preparing discussions.
  • Prepare client presentations, market updates, analyses and materials.
  • Coordinate with Trading, Credit and Legal teams through transaction execution.
  • Support documentation processes including ISDA and CSA.
  • Contribute to cross-sell initiatives with Relationship Managers and product teams.

We're looking for an Assistant Vice President – Corporate Solutions within the EMEA Risk Solutions Group to join our team in Paris.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in interest rate risk management solutions and derivative products within an international banking environment. Working alongside experienced senior professionals, you will support the origination, structuring and execution of hedging transactions for corporate clients while gaining exposure to a broad range of financing and capital markets activities.

As a secondary responsibility, you will also support the continued development of the FIG Solutions business across Europe.

About this role

The EMEA Risk Solutions Group provides tailored risk management solutions to corporate and institutional clients across interest rate and structured hedging products.

Based in Paris, the Corporate Solutions team works closely with Relationship Managers, Trading, Credit, Legal and product specialists across Europe and globally to deliver integrated risk management solutions. This role provides strong exposure to client-facing activities, transaction execution and cross-product collaboration, while offering significant opportunities for professional development within a leading international financial institution.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the origination and execution of interest rate derivative transactions, including interest rate swaps and associated hedging solutions
  • Assisting senior team members in identifying client hedging opportunities and preparing client discussions and marketing activities
  • Preparing client presentations, market updates, transaction analyses and marketing materials
  • Supporting transaction pricing, profitability assessments and hedging analyses in coordination with Trading and structuring teams
  • Assisting in the preparation of internal approval materials, including credit applications and transaction documentation
  • Coordinating with Legal, Operations and Credit teams throughout the transaction execution process
  • Supporting the management of ISDA, CSA and related derivative documentation processes
  • Contributing to cross-sell initiatives in collaboration with Relationship Managers, FX, Treasury, DCM and Structured Products teams
  • Conducting market research and monitoring client developments to help identify potential business opportunities
  • Supporting the development of the FIG Solutions franchise across Europe through research, analysis and transaction support

The anticipated salary range for this role is €76,000 - €114,000, with the final offer determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, role scope, location, and relevant market factors. In addition to base salary, the role may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award and a competitive benefits package, including core benefits such as pension provision.

Responsibilities
For you to succeed in this role
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within corporate treasury, financial markets, derivatives, debt capital markets, structured finance or a related area within a financial institution.
  • Good understanding of interest rate products, financial markets and corporate risk management concepts
  • Experience supporting transaction execution, financial analysis or client coverage activities
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to understand complex financial products and client requirements
  • Fluent French and English, both written and spoken

  • CFA, FRM or equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress) would be advantageous
