Job summary

Mistral AI is building a sovereign AI cloud in Europe, with storage systems at the core of its platform. You will design and implement the storage stack—block, file, and object—for training runs and sandboxed workloads, and you will write Go services such as S3-compatible APIs, tiering, and backup/recovery with caching layers.

You will own the data plane, plan capacity across datacenters, and work closely with Product to align the storage roadmap with business goals, while handling large-scale

Qualifications

• Built storage systems (object, block, or distributed filesystems).
• Shipped production Go systems and faced disk failures and rebalance windows.
• Deep knowledge of durability, consistency, replication, erasure coding.
• Comfort with HDD/SSD/NVMe tiers and storage economics.

Responsibilities

• Build the storage stack - block, file, object - for training and compute workloads.
• Design and write Go services: S3-compatible APIs, tiering, backup and recovery, caching.
• Own the data plane: allocation, duplication, tiering, backup and recovery.
• Plan capacity across datacenters and failure domains (petabytes).
• Collaborate with product managers to shape the storage roadmap.
