Job summary

Mistral.ai is building a sovereign AI cloud for Europe, and this role focuses on end-to-end container platform development. You will design the scheduler, routing, and scale-to-zero mechanics for CPU and GPU workloads on metal.

You’ll own core architecture decisions and collaborate with product teams to deliver developer-friendly tooling. The role emphasizes Go proficiency, large-scale backend engineering, and deep Linux knowledge, with a focus on multi-tenant, secure, efficient execution across

Qualifications

• Shipped production systems in Go.
• Built container/workload platforms (orchestration, scheduling, isolation, request routing).
• Deep Linux: namespaces, cgroups, image layers, page cache.

Responsibilities

• Build the container platform end to end: image delivery, placement, request routing, scale-up, scale-to-zero across CPU and GPU.
• Make cold starts instant: snapshotting, prewarming, image-layer caching.
• Treat AI workloads as the normal case: GPU-backed containers, long-lived connections.
• Write Go and own architecture and critical implementation decisions.
• Partner with Product Managers to translate platform decisions into a developer-friendly product.
