Job summary

Mistral AI, a sovereign AI cloud company, seeks a senior leader to manage the team building our serverless container platform. You will own end-to-end container orchestration on metal infrastructure, drive architectural decisions, and coach engineers to excel.

Expect close collaboration with product and business teams while shaping scalable, state-of-the-art AI infrastructure. You will balance hands-on architecture work with people leadership, guiding the team through complex backend challenges

Qualifications

• 2+ years of real people leadership and team management.
• Produced Go-based systems in production.
• Built or operated container/workload platforms (orchestration, scheduling, isolation).
• Deep Linux knowledge including namespaces and cgroups.

Responsibilities

• Own the container platform end to end: image delivery, placement, routing, scaling across CPU and GPU.
• Address cold-start latency: snapshotting, prewarming, caching, scale-from-zero.
• Treat AI workloads as the normal case: GPU-backed containers, streaming responses, MCP servers.
• Write Go and own architecture decisions with the team.
• Grow engineers and set ownership standards; coach beyond comfort zone.
• Lead people management: hiring, performance reviews, growth paths, feedback.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate platform decisions into deployable products.
