Job summary

Thunes Ltd, a global cross-border payments leader, seeks a Financial Risk, Financial Controls, and Safeguarding Manager to lead the 2LoD governance framework. You will govern liquidity, FX, capital, and safeguarding, aligning with Group Finance and Treasury across regulated entities.

You will report to the Global Head of Risk/CRO, design robust control environments, and provide insightful risk reporting to the Risk Committee and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Financial Risk, Treasury Risk, Financial Controls, or Risk within Fintech/Cross-Border Payments/Neobanking.
• Deep understanding of safeguarding rules (UK FCA, EU PSD2/PSD3, MAS, etc.).
• Experience in a 2LoD framework and challenging 1LoD Finance and Treasury.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee global financial risk management framework across liquidity, FX, and capital adequacy.
• Oversee safeguarding obligations across major regulatory jurisdictions and conduct independent testing.
• Evaluate and strengthen internal financial controls and risk management with 1LoD collaboration.
• Provide independent challenge on Group Treasury activities, hedging, and liquidity stress testing.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure policies adapt to local/regional developments.
• Draft and present risk dashboards for Risk Committee and Board with breaches and vulnerabilities.
• Lead incident investigations and drive robust remediation in 1LoD.
