Placements24 is seeking a Director of Strategic Financial Risks to lead enterprise-wide risk management and modeling efforts. This executive role demands deep experience across market, credit, and operational risks, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and shaping risk policy.

The position supports remote work with international travel to key meetings. The role emphasizes Basel IV/IFRS 9, advanced modelling, and strategic decision-making to sustain stability and profitability

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial risk management within banking/financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets, complex instruments, and risk modeling techniques (e.g., VaR, Expected Shortfall, Monte Carlo).
• Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies and policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide risk management frameworks and strategies.
• Oversee measurement and monitoring of market, credit, operational, liquidity, and reputational risks.
• Design and implement advanced risk models and methodologies using quantitative techniques and data analytics.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices (Basel III/IV, IFRS 9).
• Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals and advise senior management and the Board.
