nLighten is seeking a Head of Global Estimation to lead project controls, cost management, and capital governance across our data centre development portfolio.

The role is based in the UK or Europe with a European scope, reporting to CFO/CTO, and guiding internal teams and external partners to deliver robust forecasts and transparent reporting.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in megaprojects, fluent English, and a hands-on approach, with willingness to travel across European locations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in project controls, cost management, quantity surveying, commercial management, or capital programme leadership.
• Significant experience delivering large-scale data centre projects or major construction/infrastructure programmes.
• Proven experience leading project controls functions within owner/developer/contractor/consultancy environments.
• Demonstrated success managing external project controls, cost management, and quantity surveying consultancies.

Responsabilités

• Establish and lead the project controls function across a portfolio of capital projects.
• Develop and maintain best-in-class project controls frameworks, governance, and reporting standards.
• Provide independent oversight of project costs, budgets, forecasts, risks, and contingency management.
• Translate contract sum analyses into actionable financial metrics for executives.
• Lead external cost management consultancies and ensure value for money.
• Define performance KPIs and governance for third-party advisors.
• Lead and develop a small team of cost specialists and QS professionals.
