Job summary

Nexans is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel - Compliance to shape and deliver global compliance strategy across a complex international network. The role emphasizes strategic investigations, risk assessment and governance enhancements in a high-stakes environment.

The ideal candidate will bring 8-15 years of relevant experience, strong judgment, and a proven track record in AI-enabled compliance initiatives, with fluency in English and French language capabilities preferred.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years of experience in Legal, Ethics & Compliance or Regulatory functions.
• Experience leading complex investigations and regulatory inquiries.
• Strong expertise across anti-bribery & corruption, sanctions, export controls, competition law and global compliance programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to accelerate and embed Artificial Intelligence within compliance functions.
• Ability to influence senior executives and operate confidently within an international matrix organisation.
• Fluency in English is essential; French is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex litigation support, internal investigations and regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive evolution of Nexans' global compliance programme across ABAC, sanctions, export controls and ethics.
• Partner with senior business leaders to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice enabling commercial decisions.
• Lead strategic compliance transformation initiatives and governance across the Group.
• Identify opportunities to modernise compliance operations with AI-enabled tools and digital solutions.
